Georgia Trial Lawyers Association Celebrates 50 Years of Preserving Civil Justice

(Atlanta) This weekend marks the 50-year anniversary of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (GTLA). Following tradition, the Annual Convention will ensue at Twelve Hotel, Atlantic Station in Atlanta on Friday the 28th and Saturday the 29th.
Beginning on Friday, GTLA members from around the state convene for a day of intense training from experts around the country.
Friday evening the festivities begin with the Annual President’s Ball. This gala celebration remains the highlight of the Annual Convention as members honor outgoing President Glenn Kushel and usher in the incoming President, Robin Frazer Clark. Ms. Clark will be the second woman President of GTLA.
Bobby Lee Cook, one of GTLA’s most celebrated and renowned members, will be presented with the “Guardian of Justice Award.” Cook, most known for the television show Matlock— which was based on his life, will address the attendees.
Senator Rene Kemp of Hinesville will also be awarded the “Guardian of Justice Award” posthumously, as he passed after years of service in the State Senate and as a member of GTLA this past year.
The Annual Convention closes on Saturday with networking opportunities for GTLA members.
GTLA is a statewide membership organization comprised of 1,800 attorneys, paralegals and law students. GTLA works tirelessly to support and preserve the Civil Justice System, the right to trial by jury, access to the courts for all people, and an independent judiciary.
